“We are very excited to have Anne commit to lead the Board. Anne is respected globally as an organizational design and optimization expert. Her service over the past two years as board member and Vice Chair have been exemplary. During her tenure, she pioneered the creation and standardization of our Board Governance materials, which have now been used as an example for other mission Y’s across our South Florida association. She also helped lead the Board through multiple times of transition and has most recently laid a foundation with her new board by working with me to craft approved charts of work for each of our revamped committees.” Says Mr. Gilbert Garcia, Executive Director of the YMCA of South Florida, Pembroke Pines.
Dr. Arvizu has served on multiple board of directors and notable national and international charitable organizations volunteering her time, talent and treasure to strengthen her local and professional communities. She spent a 2-year term as Secretary/Treasurer for the American Medical Writers Association, and currently also serves with the DIA as a Program Committee Member, Track Chair and speaker for their major events.
“We believe Anne will help expand the mission of the Y to greater heights and I look forward to partnering with her in our area”, says Mr. Ryan Smith, AVP, YMCA South Florida. Within her first 30 days as Chair, Anne appointed her new executive committee and the committee also received a unanimous vote.
“I’m grateful for our executive team and all our esteemed board members.” Says Anne. “We have key leaders from multiple industries at the table and have plans to expand our board membership demographic to reach areas of untapped potential, so that we become known as a training center for leadership, advocates for drowning prevention, and a unifying force for positive change in the member communities we serve, of Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Southwest Ranches, Cooper City, Miami Lakes, Miami Gardens, Hialeah, and beyond.”
